UrmiMusic  is committed to creating a positive learning environment for its students.  For this reason, it is important that all students and parents understand and abide by the policies as outlined below.

Sessions & Enrollments

UrmiMusic conducts 3 sessions in a year  -  Spring, Summer and Fall. For enrollment information, contact Urmi or  click here.

 

Class size and duration:

Small class sizes of 4-5 students are maintained to ensure individual attention to each student. Classes are held once a week for a duration of 50 minutes.

 

Tuition

Tuition is payable for the entire session at the beginning of each session.

 

Refunds

Students are enrolled for the entire session. No refunds or tuition credits are made for missed classes, or withdrawal.    

 

Absences and Make-ups :

As a general rule, UrmiMusic  provides no make-up classes. Consistency is the key aspect of success in music. If a student misses any class, there is no refund or make-up lesson available. This policy is intended to encourage consistency and commitment towards the classes. 

 

School Closings :
Closings due to inclement weather are communicated via email. In case of closings, class will be rescheduled. 

 

Child Safety and Drop-off :

To ensure your child’s safety, make sure your child makes it to the class, and the teacher is present.  Do not drop your child off in the parking lot or leave him/her  unattended in the waiting area. Students should be picked up promptly after the class,  and not be dropped off more than 10 minutes prior to lesson time. UrmiMusic is  not responsible for supervising children outside of the designated teaching time.

 

Recitals and performances :
Two programs are held each year. 1) “Jhankaar” – the annual winter program which showcases solo performances by all the students. 2)  “Tarana” – the summer annual program which showcases group performances featuring a variety of songs of different Indian musical genres, accompanied by live traditional Indian instruments. Participation is optional.
 

Photo and Recording Policy

UrmiMusic reserves the right to photograph and record (video or audio) classes, programs and performances. Please be aware that these photos or recordings are for promotional purposes and may be used in future UrmiMusic and other print or electronic publications and media communications. By enrolling, you consent to the video or audio recording or taking of photographs of you and /or your child for these purposes.
